This post will feature a local entrepreneur who founded Stow, a storage share app and community.  It’s great to hear the stories of brilliant people and how they became successful.

Tell us about your background:
I am an Entrepreneur and a Problem Solver. While working on my startup, Stow, I have found joy in creating a technology solution for solving problems that people face in the storage industry.

I am also a licensed CPA. While at phone and tablet case maker, OtterBox, as a Senior Tax Accountant, I worked on a variety of domestic and international tax issues and helped to solve operational inefficiencies.

Prior to OtterBox, I worked in public accounting at EKS&H with experience in tax compliance and consulting, specializing in state and local tax issues including multistate income tax and sales/use tax.

What was your 1st entrepreneurial endeavor?
Outside of yard work, popcorn, snow cones, and all of the other stuff I would do with my siblings as a kid, Stow is my first endeavor. Stow is a marketplace for storage and long-term parking that matches people with extra space to people looking for extra space for their boat, RV, car, or household items.

Have you found social networks like LinkedIn or Instagram helpful when starting out?
Yes. Every audience gravitates towards different channels. For Stow, Facebook has been the best since that’s where people talk about life events that may entail storage, moving, or extra space. We use other channels as well such as Instagram, LinkedIn, and Twitter.

How has your personal brand helped your success?
Having a personal brand allows people to see that I am a normal person as they get to know our company brand at Stow. Showing that you are a person allows customers to feel approachable and have a face to tie to their storage experience.

What’s the most exciting thing that happened this month?
We are having really exciting conversations with local storage providers. Stow could be a great channel for local facilities to market to customers. Our goal is to provide somebody with their optimal storage experience and we are looking at ways to get the traditional storage units on Stow as a common option. That may be the best choice for some of our users.

Check out Stow’s website below and keep them in mind when you need some temporary storage space.

Cheers!
